Dicope finds Anasousa
I’m Anabel, an Argentinean living in Paris, France.
What first made you want to become an artist?
Well, I don’t consider myself as an artist… I feel more an artisan and I started to make creative stuff since I was a little girl. I went to an artistic-oriented school and I always loved to make my own accessories and garments. I think it was very natural for me start to developing my shop because of this.
Walk us through your typical workday
I work during the day as a export sales-administrative assistant… so as my work is a little bit monotone I use my mind to imagine what I’m going to make when I arrive home. At 18hs I’m ready to start with my crafty life and I try to make the most of my week to publish during the weekend all my works and new posts on my blog.
What's the hardest part about running your own business?
Publishing and describing pieces! I enjoy a lot making them and even taking photos but when I have to sit down and make the rest I feel a bit discouraged… I also enjoy packing and going to the post-office to say goodbye to my goodies.
What advice would you give to other artists ?
First and I think most important: be creative! Try to have a rhythm of work not to lose presence and clients (to publish with more frequency). Have at least more than 15 items on your shop and participate in teams (they help you and you help them). Don’t pass more time in front of the computer than creating…
How do you promote your work? Where else can we find you
I have a blog http://crearescreer.blogspot.com/ that I write at least once a week with news of my creations but also with other artist… a facebook page http://facebook.com/crearescreer that allows me to connect with people who like handmade and want to receive my news and also a twitter account https://twitter.com/#!/anasousa_etsy that helps me to be connected with other crafters and spread the word about my work.
In ten years, where would you like to be?
I don’t know, I’m very spontaneous and I don’t like to make plans over ten years… probably enjoy life the same way…
